ABOUT US

ABOUT US

From September 1944 to April 1945 the fate of WW2 in Italy rested upon the banks of a river between Appennines, Romagna Plain, Po Valley and Adriatic Sea: the Senio. For little less than 200 days the river was the scene of an endless stream of figthing, among the fiercest of the whole Italian Campaign: a forgotten and exhausting battle, destined to be of crucial importance for the end of war in Italy.

The Senio River 1944-1945 no-profit association was created with the objective of remembering that time in a respectful, apolitic and historically accurate way, thanks to the commitment and experience of volunteers united in the same passion.

Our goal is to protect the legacy of those who were there, preserve what the war left behind and value the memory of what happened, in order to give the next generations the possibility to see, comprehend and remember.

BATTLEFIELD TOURS

To feel history closer and better understand how it was for those who experienced the war, it’s often necessary to retrace the past directly on battlefields. For this reason Senio River 1944-1945 organizes public and private tours for the benefit of groups, historical researchers, schools, war veterans and their families, while protecting and promoting places of memory.
